In his 15 years at uOttawa, Baker and his group contributed synthetic chemistry advances and mechanistic insight into:

• Hydrogen production via metal-catalyzed amine-borane dehydrogenation;
• Metal-catalyzed conversion of biomass and biomass-derived chemicals;
• Metal organofluorine chemistry and catalysis;
• Ligand-assisted catalysis using first row metal complexes.
